2026 FAST Orange Committee BB Min / Long Course Meet

Apr 12
1 min read

It was one of those mornings. Cold, wet, and not exactly inviting. Still, our swimmers showed up ready to compete.

This meet brought together strong talent from across the county. Long course can feel like a lot, especially for younger athletes. The pool feels bigger. The race feels longer. It tests both body and mind.

Jeanette Kurnow stepped in with confidence and put together a strong race and smashing her PB. She earned first place in the 400 IM for girls 11 to 12. It was steady, focused, and well executed.

Ada Reynoso had a different path. Saturday did not go as planned. She was under fueled, pushed warmups too hard, and had trouble staying focused. Anxiety showed up and took over parts of her race.

But this is where growth happens. We made adjustments. Better fueling. Smarter warmup. Simpler focus. Focus on small controlable action and trust the work.

Sunday looked different. Ada came back and earned second place for the 100M Free girls 8 and under. That shift matters. Learning to adjust is everything.

Proud of both athletes and the entire SOCAL Aquatics team.
