Ada Reynoso Finishes 6th in the Nation at USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships
The USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships brought together the nation's fastest young multisport athletes, and Ada Reynoso delivered an outstanding performance against the country's best. Competing in the Girls 9-Year-Old division, Ada earned a remarkable 6th-place national finish, missing the awards podium by just one position in one of the deepest youth fields in the country.
NThe USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships bring together the nation's top young triathletes to compete for a national title and determine who stands among the country's best. The Girls 9-Year-Old field featured athletes representing some of the nation's premier youth development programs, including Endorphin Fitness, E3 Endurance, Sanford Triathlon Team, Z3 Triathlon Team, Get Fit Families, Playtri, and SelecTri. Every position had to be earned.
Ada raced with poise from the opening horn through the finish line. She posted a 2:09 swim, followed by a smooth transition, before completing the bike in 12:13 at 15.3 mph. She then finished with a determined 4:54 run, crossing the line in 21:19.29.
While the overall result was impressive, the margin to the podium was even more encouraging. The top five athletes received podium recognition, and Ada missed that final podium position by only 28 seconds. At the national level, where every transition, corner, and stride matters, that gap represents a small margin with tremendous opportunity for growth.
One of the biggest takeaways from the race was Ada's run, which proved to be her strongest discipline relative to the field, with very little training for running. Despite racing against athletes from nationally recognized development programs, she produced one of the fastest runs in the division. Her 4:54 run split ranked 4th among all nine-year-old girls, trailing only the eventual champion (4:17), third-place finisher A. Bartemus (4:19), and second-place finisher C. Evans (4:28). Finishing with a top-four run at the National Championships demonstrates both her natural speed and her ability to compete under pressure.
Equally impressive was her mindset throughout the race. Ada remained composed, executed her race plan, and competed fearlessly against some of the most accomplished young athletes in the country. Rather than being intimidated by the stage, she embraced the challenge and proved she belongs among the nation's elite.
For Team 3T, this race provided more than a result—it provided perspective. A 6th-place finish in the nation, just one spot away from the podium, confirms that Ada can compete with the very best in her age group. With continued development in all three disciplines and the valuable experience gained from racing against the country's top athletes, her future is incredibly bright.
